A collection of rough character sketches for A Helping Hand animation by Tanya Hankinson.

I was invited to participate in a site-specific exhibition in Llansteffan, Wales in March and April 2015.

Through a series of interviews I documented people’s memories and fondnesses, capturing residents’ responses to my questions along with their own recollections. What became clear was the sense of belonging, warmth and security this community shares, making Llansteffan a truly special place.

Llansteffan was screened as part of the QaRt Art Trail in Carmarthen town centre and in Cafe Iechydd Dda in May 2015 and as part of the Welsh Illustration and Design Show, Oriel Q in Narberth in April 2016.

This was an Arts Council project that I coordinated and animated for Ysgol Bro gwaun. The project's focus was to reconnect the pupils with their community. We wanted to establish links with the local community by interviewing local people about their own stories, histories and how they have been able to make a living in the area.

Pupils documented the project through drawing, photographing, animating and filming. They came up with their own questions, and chose between them who they would like to interview from the community.
